Municipal Updates Daily Marks 10 Years as Ncham Victor Unveils Expansion Plans

From selling newspapers on the streets to running a media enterprise, Ncham Victor’s journey took centre stage on Saturday as Municipal Updates Daily Newspaper celebrated its 10th anniversary in Yaoundé.

The celebration, held at the National Episcopal Hall, brought together media professionals and guests to reflect on the publication’s growth and its plans for the future.

Victor’s entry into the media business followed a path that included newspaper sales, teaching and eventually journalism. A decade after venturing into publishing, he is now seeking to broaden the newspaper’s reach and strengthen its operations.

As part of the anniversary, the publisher launched Municipal Updates Magazine, marking an additional step in the publication’s development.

Plans to establish a new headquarters in Yaoundé also signal ambitions to expand beyond its first ten years.Reflecting on his experience, Victor highlighted patience, consistency, hard work and humility as essential lessons in building and sustaining a media business.

He also acknowledged those whose support contributed to the newspaper’s progress.He encouraged young people to remain committed to their ambitions, drawing on his own journey to underline the importance of perseverance.

The anniversary marks a milestone for Municipal Updates Daily Newspaper, while the magazine launch and planned headquarters set out the publication’s next chapter.
