Bishop Michael Bibi Extends Livelihood Support to Bike Riders in Owe
Bike riders in Owe have received motorcycles through an initiative by the Bishop of Buea, Most Reverend Michael Bibi, aimed at helping them restore their sources of income.
The donation fulfils an earlier commitment made by the Bishop to support the riders as they navigate the economic difficulties facing their community.
The motorcycles were officially presented on Thursday, October 29, by Reverend Father Mario Arrey, Parish Priest and Dean of Muyuka, who represented Bishop Bibi at the handover.
The intervention comes as Owe continues to feel the effects of the ongoing Anglophone crisis, which has disrupted livelihoods and made economic recovery difficult for many residents.
The recipients welcomed the support, expressing appreciation to the Bishop for keeping his promise and remembering their situation.
Speaking during the presentation, Father Arrey also announced that another meeting with the beneficiaries would take place on November 17 in Malende.
The donation is expected to give the riders an opportunity to resume or strengthen their commercial activities and improve their ability to provide for their families.
