A New Era for Tiko Chiefs: HRM Makunde Dipoko
Daniel Elected President in Landmark Assembly

The Tiko Chiefs Conference has ushered in a new chapter
of traditional leadership following the election and official installation of a
new Executive Bureau on Friday, September 25, 2026. Leading the council into
this new era is HRM Makunde Dipoko Daniel, the Second-Class Traditional Ruler
of Missaka Chiefdom, who emerged as the new President.

The high-profile event took place at the Conference Hall
of the Divisional Officer’s Office in Tiko, bringing together traditional
authorities, municipal administrators, and community members in a grand display
of cultural heritage and civic unity.

Taking the oath of leadership, President HRM Makunde
Dipoko Daniel centered his inaugural address on peace, solidarity, and
collaborative governance. He issued a passionate call for unity among
traditional rulers across the sub-division, reassuring his peers that his
leadership would be anchored on equity.

“Everyone will be
treated equal, regardless of class or rank,” HRM Makunde Dipoko
Daniel stated, emphasizing that the conference will work as a cohesive unit to
champion the cultural and socio-economic interests of the Tiko Sub-Division.

The ceremony was presided over by the Assistant
Divisional Officer (ADO) for Tiko, alongside the First Deputy Mayor of the Tiko
Council, Hon. Efite Andrew. The exercise received the royal blessings of the
Paramount Ruler of Tiko Chiefdom, HRM Nango Mwaimbe, who commended the peaceful
transition and expressed optimism for the future of traditional authority in
the municipality.

The freshly constituted leadership features a 6-man
Executive Committee supported by a 4-man Supervisory/Advisory Committee
composed of key traditional leaders across the court areas of Tiko, Mongo, and
Mutengene.

The installation ceremony turned into a vibrant cultural
festival, attended by Traditional Rulers from across Fako Division, village
council representatives, quarter heads, and members of the Fawone association
(Tiko branch).

The atmosphere was further elevated by traditional dance
and animation groups, who thrilled attendees with customary rhythms and dances.
Following the official proceedings, the day concluded with widespread feasting,
merrymaking, and fraternity among the rulers and their subjects.

With the new bureau officially in place, expectations are
high for the Tiko Chiefs Conference to play a central role in fostering local
development, settling grassroots disputes, and strengthening communal bonds
across the gateway municipality.
